Steven J. Taylor, OTD, OTR/L, is an assistant professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy and a senior clinician in the medical center. He obtained his doctorate and master’s degrees in occupational therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Clinically, he has served as a member of the hospital-based acute care and outpatient therapy departments, with several years of experience treating a population of adolescents through older adults. This clinical experience provides a foundation for his teaching role within the academic program, where he is responsible for courses in medical conditions, evaluation of impairment in adults, as well as having an active role in the neurology series. His areas of focus include cognitive and visual-perceptual impairment, treatment of neurological conditions and rehabilitation for the hand and upper-extremity.
