My areas of research include bone repair with allografts and bone graft substitutes, the use of radiation in soft tissue sarcoma, limb salvage outcomes with allograft and modular implants, and the molecular biological basis of chemotherapeutic resistance in osteosarcoma.
Married with 5 children, 3 whom are physicians. Entire career at Rush University starting in 1980 with a focus on Orthopaedic Oncology. Served in the United States Navy during the Persian Gulf war. Director of the Tissue Bank of Illinois. Past president of the medical staff Rush University. Served as president of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, and the Illinois Orthopaedic Society. Currently the associate Dean for surgery and Chief of Surgery at Rush University along with the Rush Medical College Endowed Professor of Orthopaedic Oncology.
