Biography

I have served as a primary care adult nurse practitioner for Faculty Practice in the College of Nursing for over 13 years. During that time, I have sought ways to enhance and improve my care of clients with diabetes, substance use disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I have the pleasure of serving communities in two distinct community sites; one is located within a food catering service where I provide primary care, and the other is at a transitional housing center where I am an integrated part of a collaborative team caring for returning citizens. I serve the transitional housing center population alongside another primary care Rush NP. As a member of the Association for Community Health Nurse Educators, I provide guidance and instruction to the next generation of APNs. Most semesters, I precept DNP students and find that my work with these colleagues is reciprocally rewarding and educational.
