Current research focuses on the epidemiology of multi-drug resistant organism (MDRO) and Clostridium difficile acquisition in the setting of gastrointestinal microbiome disruption. The goal of the research is to determine how the microbiome is affected by patient and clinical factors. Sansom also participated in research focused on Infection Prevention through Rush’s CDC-funded Epicenter Program.
