  • Biography

    Philip Malloy, PT, PhD, is a full-time research scientist and Director of the Movement and Applied Rehabilitation Science (MARS) Laboratory in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Rush University Medical Center. He is an assistant professor in the Department of PM&R and Orthopedic Surgery at Rush. He also serves as an adjunct assistant professor at Arcadia University, in the Department of Physical Therapy. 

    After graduating with his Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2003 from Nazareth College of Rochester, Malloy spent 15 years in clinical practice in various Orthopedics and Sports Medicine settings, focusing primarily on both non-operative and post-operative treatment of patients with non-arthritic hip pain (NAHP) conditions. In 2018 he completed his PhD in Clinical and Translational Rehabilitation Health Science from Marquette University. His research focuses on understanding functions through the study of movement and biomechanics in people with NAHP conditions. Malloy has published extensively in the field of NAHP and served as co-author on the recently updated APTA Clinical Practice Guidelines for the treatment of NAHP conditions.
