Pamela Semanik, PhD, CNP’s expertise is in clinical rheumatology and physical activity measurement (survey and accelerometer) and promotion among persons with arthritis. Her clinical care of patients who are severely limited due to osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis inspired her personal research interest in lifestyle physical activity.
Semanik has collaborated on research that tested an intervention to improve health for persons with arthritis through the worksite promotion of healthy lifestyles, with main outcomes that include decreased weight, decreased knee pain, and improved function.
