Padraic Stanley, MSW, LCSW is the program coordinator for health promotion programs for the Rush University Medical Center Department of Social Work and Community Health, where he coordinates multiple projects to bring evidence-based group interventions for chronic condition management, pain management, wellness, and fall prevention to older adults throughout the city. At Rush, he is also the chair of the Immigrant Health Working Group, which champions institutional change in policy, practice, and operations to make Rush a safer and more welcoming environment for immigrant patients. Through this working group, Rush became the nation’s first hospital to author a formal policy to protect their patients from immigration enforcement, and continue to work on education and research initiatives to further their mission of becoming a more welcoming institution.
Stanley is an active member of the National Alumni Leadership Committee for the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, of which he is an alumnus, as well as the Illinois Alliance for Welcoming Health Care. He is also on the executive board of the International Association for Social Work with Groups (IASWG) as the Co-Chair of the Marketing Committee and is a member of the Associate Board for Erie Neighborhood House. Passionate about mentoring the next generation of social workers, Stanley oversees his department’s first year MSW internship program, frequently guest lectures for various colleges of Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, and Medicine, and also teaches group work and community practice as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Social Work.
Stanley received his Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2015, where he completed practicum at Heartland Human Care Services and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights.
