Nikita Tihonov, MD joined Rush from the University of Texas in 2017. He completed his training in general surgery at New York University Hospitals Center in New York City and his vascular surgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center. After completion of his training he was recruited and continued his academic surgical career at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he was appointed as an assistant professor in The Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy. He also completed training in hyperbaric medicine. Tihonov also serves as a staff vascular surgeon in the U.S. Air Force Reserve Medical Corps, where he attained the rank of Captain. His clinical practice and interests include aortic and carotid surgery, endovascular surgery, venous disease, aneurysms, and arterial disease. His research focus encompass surgical education and simulation, as well as endovascular modalities for arterial reconstructions.
