Nicholas D. Osteraas, MD is an assistant professor of Neurologic Sciences at Rush University Medical center. He completed internship in internal medicine, residency in neurology and fellowship in vascular neurology all at Rush University Medical Center. He is actively investigating coagulopathy occurring post administration of intravenous tissue plasminogen activator and has interest in acute care of ischemic stroke patients. He has presented at several international conferences and has multiple manuscripts under submission for publication. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and American Heart Association.

Institutional grant; Prospective Study on Intravenous Thrombolysis Related Coagulopathy in Acute Ischemic Stroke. July 2016 -November 2016. The purpose of this study is to prospectively investigate post IVtPA coagulopathy by enrolling patients who have received IVtPA and serially monitoring markers of coagulation.
