Bavis, DNP, is a family nurse practitioner and assistant professor in the Rush University College of Nursing. She currently practices at CommunityHealth in Chicago providing primary care to uninsured adults. With a BA in clinical psychology as well as a BSN and DNP from Rush University, Bavis came to nursing after working for several years in various mental health care settings. Bavis brings this background to provide a patient centered approach to care. Bavis' scholarship focus is in the care of vulnerable populations and in the training of future nurse practitioners.
