Lynn D. Mohr, PhD, APRN, PCNS-BC, CPN, FCNS, is an Associate Professor in the Women, Children, Family Nursing at Rush University College of Nursing and serves as Program Director of the Pediatric and Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Programs. She is a certified pediatric clinical nurse specialist and a certified pediatric nurse with expertise in pediatric nursing, CNS education and practice, case management, and a research focus on adolescents experiencing wound, ostomy and continence issues.
Mohr is a past President (2008- 2010) of the Society of Pediatric Nursing (SPN) and served as co-chair of the first ANA Pediatric Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice (2008) writing group has presented at numerous conferences and forums such as the NACNS Educator Forum & Summit, Society of Pediatric Nursing (SPN), SPN Pediatric CNS Special Interest Group and the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Society (WOCN).
Prior to coming to Rush, Mohr served as a Pediatric CNS at a children’s hospital where she educated and supported pediatric nurses. She led many pediatric care education and care initiatives and most notably developed and oversaw a system-wide pediatric orientation course which was a requirement for all nurses caring for pediatric patients.
Mohr has published both in professional and lay journals, as well as op-eds on various topics relating to pediatrics in the Washington Post. She is an editorial board member for Comprehensive Child and Adolescent Nursing journal.
Mohr’s research focuses on pediatric and neonatal wound, ostomy, and continence issues, where she developed a theoretical framework identifying how adolescents process the experience of having an ostomy which served as the foundation for the development of a booklet entitled “TeenBook for Teens with an Ostomy”.
