Lev Elterman, MD, is a board certified urologic surgeon. He graduated at the top of his class at Rush Medical College with a number of awards in 1995, and then went on to complete residency training in urology at Rush University Medical Center. He is a faculty member at Rush University. Elterman founded the Chicago Association of Russian-speaking Physicians (CARP) in 2001, which is a medical society devoted to the continuing education of physicians in the Chicago land area. He is also the president of the organization. Elterman is the founding Chairman of the International Russian-speaking Urological Society (iRUS), 2011. This organization is dedicated to promoting the highest standards in urological education for Russian-speaking urologists around the world, and is recognized by the American Urological Association. He is an author and co-author of 13 publications in the field of urology. Elterman’s unique expertise is in the field of female urology such as urinary incontinence and pelvic prolapse and cancers of the bladder, kidneys and prostate. His areas of interest include minimally invasive procedures for treatment of female urinary incontinence and pelvic floor reconstruction including interstim, sacral nerve stimulation and more. Elterman is a specialist in minimally invasive and office procedures for treatment of BPH, and an expert in the treatment of complex large kidney stones and percutaneous stone surgeries, and is highly skilled in performing vasectomies.
