Over her more than 25 years as a nurse practitioner, Julianne A. Doucette, MSN, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC has focused on providing holistic care for patients and their families, as well as educating nurse practitioner students in the area of primary care pediatrics. She is currently the Program Director for the Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program at Rush University. She serves as the Elected President of the Greater Texas National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) Chapter and serves as a member of the NAPNAP Research Committee at the national level. She recently served as Chair of the Rush Research & Scholarship Committee and continues as a current member, as well as serves as a Board Member of Beyond Pink Foundation. She has participated in policy advocacy as a member of the Food Allergy Research & Education Grassroots Advocacy Subcommittee and was instrumental in passing Public Law No:117-11 which expanded major food allergen labeling to include sesame.
She has extensive experience as a primary care Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) working at Children and Teens Medical Center, IL, and as a Pulmonary Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Consultant at Children’s Asthma Respiratory & Exercise Specialists, IL. Dr. Doucette has published articles, written book chapters and presented posters at national conferences in the areas of technological media and physical activity, oral health, food allergy, simulation, graduate nursing curriculum, infant/child development, access to care and more.
