Jessica Bishop-Royse, PhD MS is a health equity scholar focused on the areas of mortality, longevity, infant/maternal health, and structural racism. She has pursued a line of research that examines the individual and contextual level characteristics associated with excess risk of death and poor health for African-Americans. Additionally, she has contributed to research on the education and profession of nursing. Recently, she has expanded her research to the validation of research tools and instruments. She serves as the research methodologist for the Emergency Nurses Association.
Bishop-Royse joined the College of Nursing at Rush University as a statistician in February 2022 and was appointed Assistant Professor in April of 2022.
