The interplay among a firm’s business risk profile, asset effectiveness, capital structure, financing mechanisms, and reimbursements as well as their influence on infrastructure and profitability. Other research interests include population health management, community benefit, outcomes research, insurance markets, payment systems, business strategy, and health management competencies/pedagogy.
Prior to entering academia, Dr. Turner spent a number of years in the health care sector as a controller for a large, national health care insurer and administrator for a hospital chain. He generally teaches corporate finance, economics, accounting, leadership and strategy and as well as population health management to graduate students entering the health services field. In addition, he is a Fellow with the Academy of Healthcare Management.
