Elizabeth Lynch, PhD, is a Professor of Family and Preventive Medicine at Rush University Medical Center. She partners with community organizations to design and test programs that help improve health among Chicago residents at highest risk for chronic disease.

She is the founder and Research Director of the Alive Faith Network (AFN), a collaboration between African American churches and academic researchers focused on promoting health in Chicago communities. She also co-leads the Chicago Chronic Conditions Engagement Network (C3EN), a partnership between Rush and the University of Chicago that develops and evaluates community-based strategies to reduce the burden of chronic disease.

Lynch helps guide community-engaged research across Rush, Loyola, and the University of Chicago through her role as Director of the Community and Collaborations Cluster of the Chicago Institute for Translational Medicine (ITM). She is also Co-Principal Investigator of Live Healthy Chicago, a city-wide initiative to improve cardiovascular health through clinical interventions, mobile health services, and a public campaign to promote blood pressure control. In addition, she leads VITAL, a project studying how neighborhood investment affects cardiovascular health across Chicago.

Her work has been supported by multiple NIH grants and focuses on creating sustainable, evidence-based partnerships that bring effective prevention and care strategies directly into communities.
