Chelsea Cieslak, DNP, NNP-BC obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Rush University in 2018. Since then, she has maintained dual clinical practice in both Oregon and Illinois serving a wide acuity of patients from Level II+ to Level IV NICUs. Dr. Cieslak was instrumental in establishing a new neonatal nurse practitioner service within a private neonatology group in the Chicago suburbs, a first for that practice. She is dedicated to the education and development of new practitioners through both academic mentorship and clinical preceptorship.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Cieslak practiced as a certified neonatal registered nurse for several years in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. She also has a professional history working as a research coordinator in practice-based research networks, infectious disease prevention epicenters, and obstetrics/gynecology fields. In both her clinical practitioner and faculty roles, Cieslak continues to maintain an interest in data-driven quality improvement and research in the neonatal world.
Cieslak’s clinical interests include telemedicine in the NICU, delivery room resuscitation, and music therapy in the inpatient setting.
