Braden Hexom, MD, is an emergency physician and director of the emergency medicine residency program at Rush University Medical Center. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. During his residency training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, he developed expertise in global health working in Liberia, Haiti, Guatemala, and Honduras. He was associate director of the Libertas Center for Human Rights, a comprehensive medical clinic for survivors of torture based at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, New York. Hexom directs the emergency medicine residency, a three year training program with 36 total residents. His research interests are in medical education, program development, simulation and human rights.
