Treatment of post-combat mental health conditions in military veterans to include PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance use disorder, sleep disruption, anger, re-integration difficulty and moral injury. Cognitive Processing Therapy National Provider status; trained in prolonged exposure therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia, substance use disorder and pain, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing
Blake Schroedter, PsyD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Rush University. He is a clinical psychologist for The Road Home Program: The National Center of Excellence for Veterans and Their Families. He completed his Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in 2017 and Psychology Internship at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in 2016. He is an adjunct online professor at Adler University, where he teaches a course on the psychology of combat. He is the recipient of the following scholarships: Pat Tillman Scholarship-2013, National Football League Tillman Scholarship-2013, Alfred Adler Scholarship-2012 and the Cummins Veteran Scholarship-2007. He is also a 2013 recipient of the Presidential Service Award. Blake joined the Illinois Army National Guard in 2001, at the age of 17, he is currently assigned to the Joint Force Medical Department, where he holds the rank of Captain. He is currently assigned to A Troop 2-106 Cavalry, where he holds the rank of sergeant first class. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Golden Combat Spurs in 2009 during a deployment to Afghanistan for his role in training and operating with the Afghanistan National Army while, tactically attached to 19^th Special Forces Group, assigned as a combat advisor. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Valor and Combat Action Badge in 2005 for multiple actions taken under enemy fire while assigned as a .50 caliber vehicle machine gunner during a year-long deployment to Iraq.
