Belinda Large, DNP, APRN, CPNP-AC/PC has been a pioneer in the critical care arena, starting the service line for advance practice providers in Phoenix in 2004. Since this time, the advance practice service has grown to encompass service lines in both the pediatric and cardiac intensive care units in her home region. She created the initial training programs for critical care advance practice providers to pave the way for these new providers to become competent critical care clinicians. Her focus has moved to pediatric palliative care, where she recently created a new service line for advance practice providers. She plans to build this service line, training future palliative advance practice providers to provide transformative care to children with chronic illness and their families.
Large is an assistant professor in the Rush Acute Care PNP program which is nationally recognized for excellence. This program celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2020, and was nationally ranked as the leading online program for nurse practitioners in 2020 by U.S. News and World Report. She is a contributor to the text Pediatric Acute Care: A Guide for Interprofessional Practice, 2nd edition, due summer 2020.
