Anuradha R. Bhama, MD, FACS, FASCRS, joins Rush as an assistant professor in the Division of Colon & Rectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery. Bhama is a board certified general and colorectal surgeon who specializes in treatment of disorders of the colon, rectum, and anus, with particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and complex reoperative surgery. Bhama earned her undergraduate degree at University of Michigan and her medical degree at The Ohio State University. She completed her general surgery training at University of Iowa, followed by a fellowship at St. Joseph Mercy Health System and University of Michigan. After spending time in private practice, Bhama spent over a year at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, where she worked with national experts in colorectal surgery learning advanced minimally invasive techniques as well as complex reoperative surgery. Her clinical and research interests are minimally invasive colorectal surgery and complex reoperative surgery.
