Angela Allen, DNP, RN, has been an RN for the past 20 years. She has worked in psychiatry for 18-years of my nursing career. She is currently a full-time nursing instructor in the Rush College of Nursing. Allen began her career at Rush in 2018, as the nurse manager in the Population Health Department. In 2020 she moved to the College of Nursing where she now serves as the Co-Course Director for 503 Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, as well as a clinical instructor for this course. She is also as the clinical instructor for the Role of the Professional Nurse. Allen earned her first nursing degree (AAS) in 2002 at Malcolm X College, her BSN and MSN in nursing education at Indiana Wesleyan University, and in 2021 she completed her DNP at Grand Canyon University. In addition to her role as instructor, she serves as the Faculty Advisor for the Black Student Nurses Union (BSNU) at Rush. Allen loves to teach, enlighten, and empower students.
