Clinical training
In the nephrology fellowship, you'll build skills through active participation on the following rotations:
- Inpatient nephrology consult service
- Inpatient nephrology transplant service
- Renal pathology
- Pediatric nephrology
- Interventional nephrology
You'll also attend outpatient general nephrology and transplant continuity clinics, rotations in the outpatient hemodialysis unit, peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis clinics, and stone clinic all located either on campus or within a quarter-mile radius of the medical center.
Research
RUSH has been the epicenter for remarkable clinical and basic science research with national and international recognition.
Numerous publications from the division's faculty members have set world standards in the care of renal patients. We are proud to have investigators like Jochen Reiser, MD, PhD, and others who are pursuing groundbreaking molecular and clinical research that is already translating into better care for renal patients today and paves the way for drug development for a variety of renal conditions.
