Directions for Web Courses or Courses with a Web Component All students may register for web courses. The deadline for Summer Quarter is March 21, 2008 to ensure course access prior to the first day of classes. Students who register for a web course after March 21st may experience a delay in accessing the course until the second week of the quarter - approximately April 7-11, 2008. Students-at-large will not be allowed to register after the first day of class, which is March 31, 2008. Complete the following steps before the first day of the quarter (March 31, 2008): Please know that approximately five to seven calendar days before the first day of the quarter, you will have authorized access to your course(s). Students enrolled in College of Nursing courses may not have authorized access to their courses until the Friday before the quarter begins. • If you plan to use the computers in the McCormick Educational Technology Center (METC) you can access WebCT by clicking on the "Log into My WebCT" link at http://elearn.rush.edu.
• If you are planning to access the course from your home or place of employment, there is a WebCT browser tune-up available at www.webct.com/tuneup which is helpful for new students not using a Rush computer. Read the specific computer hardware and software requirements and, if necessary, download and install the appropriate software. Off-campus students can access WebCT via www.rushu.rush.edu/onlineclasses. Next, follow the above instructions on how to access WebCT by entering your WebCT login and password. • Students may be required to participate in interactive web-based class meetings using Wimba Live Classroom software. A summary of the software requirements appears below. To participate in a Live Classroom class meeting, a microphone and headphones are required; a headset with microphone is preferred. The following operating systems, browsers and connections are compatible with Wimba Live Classroom:

Students are responsible to have their computing equipment working on the first day of class. Instructors will not be able to make special accommodations for students who get behind because of inadequate equipment. If you have questions, please contact your course director.
