Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are more than just words at Rush University Graduate College. They are our guiding principles that help to cultivate an environment that enriches our students’ experience as we foster science person by person.

At the Graduate College, we foster an inclusive environment to ensure educational benefits that can only come from diversity across the academic community. This innovative culture provides our students with expertise in their chosen fields, creativity to cross disciplinary boundaries, courage to challenge convention, and the confidence to ask unexpected questions and articulate new perspectives as they develop into the next generation of scientific leaders.

At Rush University, we are committed to transforming the scientific climate to recognize diversity, equity and inclusion as essential to approaching and solving our most complex scientific problems.

Our Efforts

The Graduate College, in collaboration with multiple Rush University offices and organizations, has implemented several initiatives to support the success, retention, and persistence of our graduate student body. Recognizing the intersectionality of identity, students are encouraged to take advantage of as many of these initiatives as appropriate.
