Spanish Organization at Rush (SOAR)

Mission

Spanish Organization at Rush (SOAR) aims to provide students and faculty at Rush University the opportunity to learn and practice the Spanish language so they may be able to apply their knowledge in the medical field, and to help students volunteer with Spanish speaking individuals across the lifespan in a primary care setting to practice our language skills. Activities include meeting monthly for 1 hour to practice Spanish in terms of the basic language to initiate conversations as well as the medical Spanish language relating to health care. A key overarching goal of SOAR is to foster a sense of community and inclusion with the Spanish-speaking patients and our health care providers.
