American Medical Association

Medical students are represented in the AMA through their own democratic, policy-making body: the American Medical Association-Medical Student Section (AMA-MSS).

The Rush Medical College AMA Chapter is a constituent chapter of the American Medical Association Medical Student Section (AMA-MSS), the Illinois State Medical Society, and the Chicago Medical Society.

The AMA-MSS is dedicated to representing medical students, improving medical education, developing leadership, and promoting activism for the health of America. The AMA-MSS is the largest and most influential organization of medical students in the country, with nearly 50,000 members. As an organization, AMA-MSS strives to be the principal source for obtaining and disseminating information for medical students regarding medical education, residency training, and medical practice and the most representative voice and influential advocate for medical students and their patients.

Here at Rush, the AMA Chapter holds events like blood drives in partnership with the American Red Cross, socials with surrounding area chapters, attends regional AMA events, and more. Furthermore, Rush AMA membership benefits medical students by connecting them with many resources, which can be viewed here.
