  • CVs, Resumes, and Cover Letters — If you want someone to review your CV, resume or cover letter, contact the Office of Student Life and Engagement to set up an appointment to have someone review your resume with you.  Distance learners can have their materials reviewed over the phone or via Blackboard Collaborate.  
  • Interviews — One of the biggest steps in the job search process is the job interview. The best way to prepare for the interview is with practice. With this in mind, the Office of Student Life and Engagement will hold mock interviews for anyone who wishes to have one.

Alumni networking

One of the best ways to find a job is to use your professional network, and one of the best ways to grow a professional network is to meet with alumni. The Office of Student Life and Engagement maintains a database of alumni who are willing to network with students.

  • Job Shadowing — If you are interested in shadowing one of our Rush alumni, the Office of Student Life and Engagement can help place you with one in your area of interest.
  • Informational Interviews — An informational interview is a great opportunity to speak with professionals in your area of interest. It is a perfect opportunity to research your career and get insight from an expert. We can connect you with one of our alumni to to help develop your networking skills.
