Meet the Staff

Kevin has been with Rush since 2011. He has extensive technical skills and project management experience from meeting with clients to obtain projects’ specifications, design, develop and deliver projects to completion. Expertise focused on IT infrastructure, software scientific programming, data architecture, data warehouse, coding and testing skills. Prior to joining Rush, he served as a Senior System Engineer for the Center for Research Informatics at the University of Chicago, IL; Biomedical Informatics Consultant for the Argonne National Lab, Computation Institute, Argonne, IL; and Scientific Application Engineer for the General Clinical Research Center, University of Illinois at Chicago. He is currently overseeing a team of developers and trainers for the daily development and operation of the Rush Research Portal, and the Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap).

Kevin received his Master of Research Administration from Rush University Medical Center; Master of Computer Science, University of Chicago; and a Bachelor of Computer Science, University of Illinois at Chicago.

Antonio DeMarco, MSRA, BS
Tony is the Research Web Master with Rush in the Office of Research Affairs. He has served in this position in the Office of Research Affairs since 2005. Antonio supports Rush Research Portal users by delivering their required training in order to gain access to this system. He creates, maintains and issues user accounts. He is involved in the design and development of the Rush Research Portal. In addition to this, he also does REDCap support. He graduated from University of Arizona in 2003 with a BS in Business Administration and went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Research Administration from Rush University in 2016.

Intez Ali, MBA, BS
Intez is a business-focused Information Technology (I/T) professional with over 20 years of experienced in each step of the application building process: interviewing, business process modeling, coding, testing, and implementation. Experienced in ERP projects from developing request for proposal (RFP) to implementation. Skilled in envisioning and understanding complex business processes as well as analyzing detailed work flows, knowledge of 360 views. Adept quickly at developing fluency in business function-specific terminology and communicating with people at all levels in an organization. Effectively translate business needs to IT personnel and IT concepts to business people in both written and verbal communications. In addition to an Associate in Engineering, Intez has B.S in Computer Science and MBA with concentration in Management Information System.

Bhavya Setia, MS, BS
Bhavya is an Applications Analyst with Rush Since July 2019. She joined as OnCore Coordinator, quickly got involved in designing, implementing, improvising processes for Rush Research Portal. Bhavya provides leading edge support solutions to REDCap users by developing and delivering projects. She is also responsible for streamlining and conducting training for REDCap econsenting processes. Prior to joining Rush, She has gathered relevant experience in multi-disciplinary technical and management domain has taken up roles across Business Analysis, Cloud ERP Consulting, Database Design, Pre-Sales, Project Management, System Design and gained knowledge in all the aspects of a client-focused business environment during her time with Tata Consultancy Services. She earned her M.S in Information Systems and Operations Management from the University of Florida, where she served as a President of the Association for information Systems.

Richard Becker, BS
Richard is a Senior Application Analyst with Rush in the Office of Research Affairs since November 2019, first as a consultant and now perm full-time. He has 20+ years’ experience as a programmer, analyst, and developer. Richard has a proven track record of achievement, utilizing excellent coding, conceptual, and analytical skills. Besides supporting REDCap users, projects, and operations, Richard is involved in the design, development, and maintenance of Rush’s Research Portal. He graduated from Southern Illinois University/Carbondale with a BS in Communications/Journalism. Richard is married with two grown children; in his spare time he enjoys biking, solving crossword and Sudoku puzzles, and watching classic B&W movies.
