How to apply

To apply to the Master of Science in clinical research program, complete the following steps:

Submit an application using the Rush Application.

You will also need the following ready to submit through the Rush Application:

  1. Personal statement
  2. Curriculum Vitae
  3. Three references

Submit additional application materials according to your affiliation and prior training (see list below). You can email or mail these materials to the following address:

  1. Rush residents and fellows need to submit United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) scores 
  2. Stroger residents, fellows and faculty need to submit the following:
    1. United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) scores
    2. Copy of Stroger ID and letter of appointment
  3. International medical graduates (who are not Rush or Stroger employees) need to submit the following:
    1. Medical school diploma (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates Certificate) 
    2. Official course-by-course evaluation by Educational Credential Evaluators (we not accept evaluations from World Education Services)
    3. GRE scores or United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) steps 1, step 2CK and step 2CS
    4. TOEFL scores, if English is not your native language, or USMLE step 3
  4. Non-MD graduates with a BS or BA (who are not Rush or Stroger employees) need to submit the following:
    1. Official transcripts from all colleges attended 
    2. GRE scores from the last five years or an equivalent exam in the sciences (e.g., MCAT, DAT, PCAT or Pharm D)

Application dates and deadlines

Deadline for international students: March 15, 2019

Deadline for Rush and Stroger hospital affiliates:  June 15, 2019

Final deadline: August 15, 2019

Tuition, fees and aid

Stroger affiliates can qualify for a reduced tuition rate.

Rush employees can qualify for tuition reimbursement through the Linking Education and Performance or LEAP, program. With the LEAP benefit, you will pay $5,000 total for the program ($2,500 per year). Contact your benefits specialist for LEAP benefit and qualification information.

Rush offers financial aid and scholarships to qualified applicants.
