Dr. Martha Siomos started her clinical work in the Preventive Medicine Dept at Rush as a co-investigator in over 20 clinical research trials examining efficacy and adverse effect profiles of cardiac, renal, and diabetes drugs.
Currently, her clinical practice is at Family Health Partnership Clinic in Crystal Lake, IL as an FNP, and also has a certification in Advanced Diabetes Management. This community clinic is available to serve thousands of individuals who are uninsured or underinsured in McHenry County. APN clinical students are taught in this setting and have an opportunity to learn about the care and treatment of complex medical patients with psychosocial needs and daily challenges.
Areas of publication include teaching, adolescent health, APN clinical training and teaching models, diabetes, and clinical drug trials on specific hypertensive agents and potassium balance. Dr. Siomos conducts poster presentations in the areas of Diabetes, Pharmacotherapeutics, and APN decision making in the community clinic environment.
