Alexander K. Chow, MD is an expert in robotic surgery for prostate cancer, treatment of complex kidney cancer, urinary tract reconstruction (pyeloplasty, buccal ureteroplasty, ureteral reimplantation, and urinary diversion) and treatment of complex stone disease. Chow’s unique clinical skills include retroperitoneal nephron sparing robotic surgery, which reduces the risk of post-operative complications after treatment of some kidney tumors. He is also experienced with the robotic utilization of buccal autograft to treat long complex ureteral strictures.
Chow’s academic contributions include over 30 presentations at regional, national and international meetings, numerous peer-reviewed publications on surgical outcomes and residency education, and contributing as a reviewer for the Journal of Urology and Journal of Endourology. His philosophy of care is to be present for his patients during every step of the diagnosis, treatment and recovery processes; he aims to guide them from the initial diagnosis of their urologic condition, to the day of surgery and beyond into the surveillance period, and back into a life of normalcy.
