Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency

Med-Peds Residency Program

Rush Med-Peds Annual Spring Retreat 2017!

The Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, or Med-Peds, Residency program is a dynamic program built on the foundation of its two parent residency programs, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Internal Medicine and Pediatrics are recognized for excellence in training both locally and nationally. Please click on and view the parent program websites (hyperlinked above) to get a more comprehensive view of the Med-Ped Residency Program here at Rush University Medical Center/Rush University Children’s Hospital (RUMC/RUCH).

Med-Peds is centered around a tight-knit community with strong, respectful, collaborative relationships between faculty, staff and fellow residents. Residents play an important role in directing and refining the program. The Med-Peds Program has a solid footprint at Rush.

The academic year is divided into thirteen, four-week rotations and includes sites at Rush, John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County and various other settings, including local community, rural hospital and clinic locations. You’ll also experience longitudinal outpatient training in Rush’s own Med-Peds clinic.

As a nationally recognized tertiary medical center, Rush attracts a diverse patient population from the city and surrounding suburbs and states. Our patients represent a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, socioeconomic and religious backgrounds and provide a unique depth and breadth of experience for residents.

We also emphasize resident involvement in scholarly work through various activities.
