Rush University Medical Center has been at the forefront of Chicago’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of the strong leadership at the center, we have been able to care for the most critically ill COVID-19 patients in the city. We have successfully extubated hundreds of patients thus far which would not have been possible without our strong respiratory therapy department and phenomenal critical care nursing staff. Access to advanced life support therapies, like ECMO, has been an invaluable therapy for many patients. In addition, we have several ongoing clinical trials for therapeutic agents. The fellows of the division have been involved in every aspect of care and continue to be appreciated for their hard work.
