Faculty

Mark Pollack, MD, has a conversation with residents around a table as they drink coffee.

The strength of the Department of Psychiatry's faculty lies in combining expertise in biological psychiatry, psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Our faculty have won numerous teaching awards for training residents to become superb clinicians. Our faculty are recognized nationally and internationally as scholars in the treatment and research of anxiety and traumatic stress, mood disorders, psychosis, addictions, forensic psychiatry, population health, consult liaison psychiatry, autism, neuropsychology and geriatric psychiatry. In collaboration with our colleagues in Geriatric Medicine, Rush University has been named a Geriatric Center of Excellence. Our Road Home Program provides a unique opportunity to care for our veterans and their families. We have multiple faculty on our staff from the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis that teach our residents. Our departmental leaders have an open door policy with our residents and are closely involved with the design and management of our residency program. Our faculty are available for career and research mentorship. Our faculty holds leadership positions in local, state and national organizations such as the Illinois Psychiatric Society, American Psychiatric Association and the American Medical Association.
