Rush Sexual Harassment Prevention TrainingNew Illinois Law Requires Sexual Harassment Prevention Continuing Education

 

Beginning January 1, 2020, all persons who hold a professional license issued by the Illinois Division of Financial & Professional Regulation who are subject to a continuing education requirement must complete a one-hour continuing education course in sexual harassment prevention training. This one-hour training may be counted toward meeting the minimum credit hours for continuing education for relicensure.

 

Are you renewing your professional license with the state of Illinois this year? Are you required to complete continuing education as part of your license renewal? If the answers are yes to those questions, you are required to have one hour of continuing education in sexual harassment prevention as part of your education for license renewal!

Rush and the Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education are offering this required training to Rush clinicians.
 

The continuing education can be used by the following clinicians:

  • Physicians
  • Nurses
  • Advance Practice Providers
  • Pharmacists
  • Pharmacy Technicians
  • Social Workers
  • Physical Therapists
  • Nutrition / Dietitians
  • Psychologists
  • Respiratory Therapists

Other licensed clinicians who use CE, CME, CNE, or CPE are eligible to complete the course as required by the state.  Please check your licensing board for your specific continuing education requirements.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Define sexual harassment, as well as its forms and types.
  • Develop strategies of action if sexual harassment or unwanted sexual contact is witnessed or experienced, and identify strategies to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.
  • Describe how to report sexual harassment, both at Rush and at entities outside of Rush.
  • Review protections available for those reporting sexual harassment.
