Beth Bolick, DNP, NP, associate professor and specialty coordinator for the Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program for the Rush University College of Nursing and interim chairperson for the Department of Women, Children and Family Nursing and co-editor, Karin Reuter-Rice, PhD, RN, CPNP-AC/PC, will have their new text, Pediatric Acute Care: A Guide for Interprofessional Practice, released on July 25, 2011 through Jones & Bartlett Publishers.

Written for the entire interprofessional team, Bolick and Reuter-Rice provide an evidence-based approach to practice exemplifying the depth and diversity necessary for this complex and dynamic health care environment. Pediatric Acute Care offers insights to care, safety, systems, and regulations across the pediatric spectrum. This text is intended as a reference for practice and as a resource for training health care professionals who care for the patient in a variety of settings, including the emergency, transport, inpatient, and critical care environments.

With contributions from more than 200 practicing clinicians and experts from the United States and Canada (37 from Rush University Medical Center), Pediatric Acute Care represents a wide-variety of disciplines including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, child life, nutrition, law, oriental medicine, education, public health, and psychology.
