Welcome to ATTP & Mission Statement

The Rush University (Rush) advanced trauma training program (ATTP) is conducted by the attending physicians from the Department of Emergency Medicine at Rush University Medical Center (RUMC). The overall objective of the ATTP is to provide members of the military medical corps and civilian first responders with state-of-the-art knowledge and hands-on skills required to respond to real-life emergency situations, whether on the battlefield overseas or to natural and/or man-made catastrophic events at home. While providing superior medical care to patients who have suffered traumatic injuries, we highlight the importance of saving lives on the battlefield while under fire and evacuating the casualties to a higher level of care.

To provide a comprehensive program that will reduce battlefield mortality rates and, if possible, permanent disabilities and/or loss of quality of life during the pre-hospital life support phase.
