Applying to the Rush HSM Program

The Rush University CAHME-accredited Master of Science in Health Systems Management program is a participant in the Healthcare Administration, Management & Policy Centralized Application System (HAMPCAS). To start the application process go to the HAMPCAS portal.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis beginning in early September.

On-site interviews are conducted on Fridays beginning early October.

Early application deadline for first priority is December 1st. The hard deadline to submit application is February 15th.

Requirements for Admission to the HSM Program

Requirements for Admission to Full-Time Program
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Official GRE or GMAT scores (50th percentile or above)
  • Personal statement
  • Resume
  • Transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • On-site interview (telephone interview for international applications)
  • Basic coursework in accounting (3 credit hours), statistics (3 credit hours), and microeconomics (3 credit hours) completed prior to matriculation

Tuition, Fees & Financial Aid

Tuition & Fees 

Tuition at HSM is very competitive with other top programs. HSM also offers a guaranteed, paid internship in the first year. Although it is not required or guaranteed, students also typically intern over the summer and their second year (HSM provides assistance with finding these internships but does not guarantee internships past the first year).

Financial Aid
Rush University's Office of Student Financial Aid provides assistance to all students. A variety of scholarships, grants, and loans are available to students based on need and academic achievement.
