The laboratory of Xiu-Ti Hu, PhD, focuses on revealing the cellular/molecular mechanisms that underlie neuroAIDS and cocaine addiction. HIV infection and cocaine abuse induce functional and anatomical alterations in certain brain regions, including but not limited to the prefrontal cortex, striatum and hippocampus.
