About The Program

The Department of Neurosurgery offers a one-year fellowship in functional neurosurgery under the direction of Dr. Roy A. E. Bakay. The fellow will operate by applying stereotactic neurosurgical methodology to the treatment of patients with movement disorders.

How To Apply

The fellowship applicant must contact Dr. Bakay and submit a curriculum vitae with three letters of reference. Dr. Bakay then contacts the references personally, after which an invitation for an interview may be issued. The fellow interviews with Dr. Bakay, Dr. Traynelis and Dr. Byrne, the Chairman. Basic criteria include but are not limited to successful completion of an ACGME accredited residency in neurological surgery, a modicum of prior clinical or lab-based research and satisfactory references.
