The RUSH cardiovascular disease fellowship is a rigorous three-year program designed to provide a balanced experience in all aspects of cardiovascular medicine. Our aim is to train physicians to become outstanding, well rounded cardiologists capable of excelling in academic or clinical practice. Fellows develop a strong foundation in virtually every discipline in cardiology through clinical, lab, elective, and research rotations.

RUSH University Medical Center is one of the largest hospitals in Chicago, providing care to a diverse patient population throughout the region. It is also one of the busiest tertiary and quaternary referral centers in the Midwest. Cardiovascular fellows gain experience in the entire spectrum of acute and chronic cardiovascular disease, through three unique training sites: RUSH University Medical Center, RUSH Oak Park Hospital, and John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Our program structure recognizes individual interests and needs, especially in the second and third years of training, when specific career planning is started. Advanced rotations are available to trainees who wish to emphasize specific clinical skills.
