Welcome From the Director

I would like to give you a brief overview of our training program. We take one resident per year into a five-year program, which consists of the first year in general surgery and the next four years in urologic surgical training. The general surgical training takes place both at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and at Rush University Medical Center, while the urology training is done exclusively at Rush.

About The Program

The Department of Urology offers a five-year residency training program, the objectives of which are:

  • to provide residents with a wide range of experience in all realms of urologic diagnoses and therapies

  • to prepare residents for all aspects of the practice of urology, as well as for subspecialization should they so choose

  • to prepare residents for certification by the American Board of Urology


How To Apply

The urology program of Rush University Medical Center participates in the American Urological Association Matching Program. Applicants must be graduates of an LCME accredited program. The department does not sponsor visas.
