About Our Program Residents in pediatrics at Rush assume gradual independence and supervisory responsibility over the course of three years. Patient mix is diverse and challenging. Because we have fellows only in cardiology and allergy/immunology, residents interact directly with attendings and have numerous opportunities for decision making and procedures. About Our People Recent graduate Rachel Newman left with these words about the program: "Our graduation is bittersweet for me.
