BS and MS Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Advanced Standing

Policy for Students Who Hold the RRT Credential

Advanced standing is available to individuals who have successfully completed the Respiratory Therapy Registry (RRT). Those eligible for advanced standing must submit the following documents:

  • A notarized copy of the RRT certificate indicating that it is a true and accurate copy.
  • Official transcripts of all previous respiratory care course work and general education course attempted and/or completed.
  • For the MS degree, official transcripts of courses toward completion of a BS degree.
  • A notarized copy of the Certificate of Completion from an approved respiratory care training program as applicable.

Respiratory Care Licensure and Accreditation

The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is the national testing agency for respiratory care practitioners. Respiratory Care Programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).

Respiratory Care Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition

Tuition for this program will be charged at the rate of $557 per quarter credit hour for the BS program, and at the rate of $592 per quarter credit hour for the MS program.

Financial Aid

Financial aid is comprised of loans, grants, scholarships and employment from state, federal, institutional and other sources to meet the cost of education. These funds are from either: (1) aid awarded on the basis of demonstrated need or (2) aid from non-need sources.
