The Master of Science degree program in occupational therapy is offered by the Department of Occupational Therapy within the College of Health Sciences at Rush University. The program utilizes the Rush University and Rush University Medical Center facilities and opportunities throughout the curriculum. It provides the scientific and professional education for occupational therapists planning to practice in medical, educational and community-based settings. The occupational therapy curriculum is predicated on adult learning theories. Students are regarded as active agents in their own learning and are expected to articulate their needs and understanding, initiate learning activities which meet their own needs and collaborate with peers and faculty to develop the clinical reasoning skills and resources which support competent occupational therapy practice.
