Rush Professor Looks at Strengthening the Role of Non-Resident Fathers in Black Communities

Initially frustrated with the perception by many of non-resident black fathers as “deadbeat dads,” Wrenetha Julion, PhD, MPH, RN, professor of nursing at Rush University, has spent years researching the roles and attitudes of these men in an effort to better understand the many challenges they face.


Psychologist at Rush Masters Own Emotions to Assist Others

Stevan Hobfoll, PhD, a psychologist and professor at Rush University Medical Center, is able to remain a level-headed scientist despite all of the emotions that come with knowing his former home is in turmoil. He does this partly by using the same techniques he teaches to some U.S. military medical service personnel as part of their trauma training at Rush prior to deployment.

Hamilton Receives One of Nursing's Highest Honors

Rush College of Nursing associate professor Rebekah Hamilton, PhD, RN, was selected for fellowship into the American Academy of Nursing (AAN) and will be honored at the October induction ceremony in Washington, D.C.
