Welcome to the Graduate College at Rush University

Rush University is dedicated to educating students who will become tomorrow's leaders in advancing health care. The vision of the college is that its graduates will become productive scientists, educators and leaders in their respective fields. In the arenas of academia, industry and government, they will compete successfully for funding and train the next generation of researchers and educators. At Rush, our faculty teach all of the courses and foster a "family atmosphere" in which every student counts. The curriculum is often times intense, but convenient office hours and the availability of student tutors help in the mastery of the material. The college is organized into divisions, which each have a specialty area.

Programs of Study

The Graduate College offers both the doctor of philosophy (PhD) and master of science (MS) degree. Programs of study for PhD degree involve formal courses and electives in areas of the student's interest, as well as the completion of a research project, culminating in the defense of a dissertation. An MS degree has limited availability in certain fields of study to those who have completed all course requirements and have written a master's thesis.
