College of Nursing Information
  • Rush University College of Nursing invites nominations and applications for the position of chair for the Department of Adult Health and Gerontological Nursing. Rush University College of Nursing pioneered the teacher-practitioner model of nursing education and its students are prepared to advance the quality of patient care and nursing practice in a multitude of health care environments, to assume leadership positions, and to conduct innovative clinical research. 
  • The College of Nursing enjoys a close partnership with Rush University Medical Center, having earned its 3rd Magnet designation, through collaborative efforts in patient care, evidence-based practice and research projects. The Rush Nursing Center for Aging and Health, established with the goals of improving care of older adults, educating future providers in the care of older adults and advancing knowledge and science concerning care of older adults, is comprised of cross-department Rush College of Nursing and interdisciplinary faculty who have special expertise in caring for older adults.
Department of Adult Health and Gerontological Nursing 
  • The Department of Adult Health and Gerontological Nursing offers a number of advanced practice graduate tracks at the Doctor of Nursing Practice level with four of these tracks ranked among the top ten nationally by US News & World Report. Nurse practitioner options are available in adult-gerontology acute care and adult-gerontology primary care. Clinical specialist options include adult-gerontology, adult-gerontology critical care nursing and the highly-ranked certified registered nurse anesthetist program.
 Position Requirments
  • The ideal candidate is nationally recognized as a senior scholar/leader in nursing with evidence of progressive administrative responsibility. Successful candidates must possess an earned doctorate, a distinguished record of teaching, mentorship, and research, and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of professor. The new chair must be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Illinois.
