Jennifer M. Orozco, MMS, PA-C is an assistant professor and the Director of Clinical Education for the Rush PA Program since its inception in 2010. Prior to joining the PA program she was a practicing physician assistant in vascular surgery and emergency medicine since 2003. She now works per-diem at the Rush Walk-In Clinics for the Department of Internal Medicine.
Jennifer also holds numerous leadership positions both inside and outside the institution. She is the President-Elect for the Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants, the Director of PA Clinical Practice for Rush University Medical Center, Chair of the PA Committee, and the PA representative for numerous university and hospitals committees. Her interests and expertise include PA leadership, clinical curriculum development and assessment, medical staff credentialing and privileging, FPPE/OPPE competency assessment, and PA onboarding.
She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants (IAPA), Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA), and the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council (MCHC).
In her free time Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband David and their three children. As a former NCAA Division I gymnast, Jennifer frequently attends UIC gymnastics meets and checks in with former alumni. She also enjoys visiting her family in Philadelphia and her yearly trips to the Jersey shore.
